Hi Aaaw,

I do appreciate your efforts and time.

Do not worry, will assist you with the issue.

Try to run Hardware Troubleshooter. It checks for common issues and makes sure that any new device or hardware attached to your computer was installed correctly.

a. Press Windows Logo Key+X then click on Search screen.

b. Type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and click on Troubleshooting.

c. In the new window, click View all on the left pane.

d. In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices.

e. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the issue persists, then try to uninstall and re-install display drivers.

  1. Press Windows Logo Key+X. Click On Device Manager.

  2. Then find the driver that you are trying to uninstall and right-click on it to Uninstall.

  3. Follow onscreen instructions to uninstall it.

  4. To re-install, either you can restart the system or install the driver from the manufacturer's website.

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

Hi Kalpana,

I'm having the same issue with Windows 10 ("didn't detect any additional displays" when plugged into a TV via HDMI).

I tried your fix, and it didn't work.  Windows is only showing a driver for the built-in display.  (FYI, same issue with my USB gamepads - no driver)

Hi Kalpana,

I've tried updating my drivers and I get this response...

Could this be what is preventing it from displaying on an external monitor? If so, is this a Microsoft or an AMD problem? It looks like a driver is available but is unable to be installed. I'm reluctant to try uninstalling my current version because of this.

Many thanks,

Stefan

I am having this same problem and researching it right now.  Apparently Microsoft in all their infinite wisdom decided that no one would connect a T.V. via HDMI or dvi to HDMI ports anymore and would only use them to "mirracast" with.  Therefore the only fix for this, AFAIK, is to disable driver updates by using the "let me choose option", uninstall all the updates for that include video drivers, restart, and reinstall your correct video driver using the legacy "compatibility" option...   This is a fix apparently but not a very permanent one if you ask me.   Anyways I haven't tried it yet but have read at more than on forum that this will work.  Here is a link to the one with the most thorough instructions.  Good luck. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/hdmi-not-working-after-upgrade-to-windows-10/td-p/5173786
